From CWC’s Rachel Rosen Simpson:
It is partially as a result of my personal experience with the benefits of a mindfulness practice as a cancer caregiver that CWC is offering a free Mid Month Mindfulness program for both caregivers and cancer patients. I recently attended a fantastic webinar with Dr. Lori Brotto who is a Professor in the OBGYN Department at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Dr. Brotto has done extensive research on the benefits of mindfulness during and after cancer. Mindfulness can help people cope with overwhelm, extreme sadness, grief, anxiety, and fear and can be important tools for anyone impacted by cancer. In her webinar Dr. Brotto shared some data from her most recent study on Mindfulness and Cancer, and discovered that benefits of mindfulness skills were not merely temporary, but were retained at least 6 months later for all outcomes.
