Saturday, September 16, 2017, Cancer Wellness Connections hosted our tenth annual ovarian and gynecologic cancers benefit 5K race. It was great to have so many people out in support of Cancer Wellness Connections and the women and families who have been affected by ovarian and gynecologic cancers. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped ensure the details were covered and that the race went off without a hitch. 784 participants registered to run or walk the race and hundreds more people were there to cheer on the racers. This past year we had 46 race teams formed and they were responsible for 44 team fundraisers in support of the race. In total, almost $44,000 was raised in the 2017 5K. What an amazing effort! Special thanks go out to a few teams of note. Trixie’s Team Teal was the highest fundraising team with over $6,000 raised. And teams I’m So Ovary This and Team Flower Power were tied for the teams with the most amount of members! Thank you also to our fantastic race sponsors.
