“Mid-Month Mindfulness”
with Laura Gavigan

CWC is partnering with Laura Gavigan, Founder of Mindful Matters, to offer several sessions of “Mid-Month Mindfulness” skills. Laura uses a blended model of teaching, counseling and coaching integrating mindful meditation skills to help people understand and manage stress.

Mindful means being aware and paying attention in a way that is calm, deliberate, and accepting. For cancer patients and their caregivers, it helps return the focus to the present moment and steers them away from the worry of the unknowns that cancer brings. It can also be helpful to cancer patients in:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing pain
  • Improving quality of life
  • Increased self-awareness
  • Increased resilience
